Environmental Technician
GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities include: The successful candidate will:
Conduct Daily Water Treatment SystemInspections
Measure, monitor, and record water levels in water wells
Monitor and recordindications pertaining to the site's leak detection sumps
Monitor spray systems
Inspect tailings embankment
Document leaks, flows, measurements, conditions and needed repairs
Monitor, measure, and record Totalizerreadings
Operate heavy equipment such as loaders, forklifts, and bulldozers
Operate the ReverseOsmosis Plant
Perform daily monitoring of water treatmentsystems; includes assessing the daily demands and making appropriate adjustments to meet thosedemands
Monitor the chemicaldemands for the needs of the site's water treatmentsystems
Perform basic maintenance
Install and maintain pipelines and pipeline components in various sizes, lengths and types
Install, adjust, maintain, and repair pumps of varioushorse powers
Connect series of wells togetherfor a range of uses
perform other duties as assigned
SELECTION CRITERIA
BASIC REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for this job, applicants must meet these basic requirements:
A minimum of a High school diplomaor equivalent required
Proficient in Microsoft office required
Demonstrate attention to detail required
Proven ability to multitask and work withindeadlines required
Ability to work with others professionally and tactfully, followpolicies, andto work in supportof management decisionsin a positive manner required
Convey ideas and information throughverbal and writtencommunications required
Ability to interpretor work from oral or written instructions required
Willingnessto tackle large projects required
Self-prioritizing - scheduling and work accomplishments required
Considerable knowledge of the safe use of department equipment required
Considerable ability to performwater system maintenance and repair required
Must be able to work in areas with exposure to chemicals and various environmental conditions such as: dust, dirt, noise and weather changes required
Technical background in the mechanical, process,and/or environmental field preferred
